Quaint and Comfortable We loved the atmosphere of Abbotsford and it definitely felt like an escape. On the day of our visit the owners were away but we were still greeted and shown to our room. The suites are spacious and feel like home. There isn’t a TV as other reviews have mentioned but this didn’t bother us at all. The bathroom is a highlight with a luxurious spa bath - candles around the bath were a nice touch. We had an early departure and so missed the signature breakfast - be aware that this isn’t served until 8:30am. You can request a packed breakfast however apparently this needs to be requested 24hrs in advance, we requested the night before and never heard anything back. I do think that the involvement of the owners and their personal touch would make this an excellent stay. Inside the country house itself is a well-stocked book cupboard and ‘honesty bar’ as well as a gorgeous dog!Georgia 2/20/2019
Wonderful experience! What a unique and wonderful experience we had staying at Julian and Jane’s hotel! Julian made us feel so at home and couldn’t have been nicer. The setting and the property are beautiful. So restful! We would highly recommend this property. Would definitely stay here again.DianeD1021 2/06/2019
A fantastic place to stay If you after peace and quiet and fantastic views this is the place to stay. From the time we arrived till the time we left Julian made us feel very special. The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was a gourmet delight especially the stewed fruits. Yes it is out of town, but distances to restaurants and wineries was not an issue with most being 5-20 minutes away depending what you want to eat. Time to get a good wine and return to sit under the verandah and soak up the peace and views. Julian did a platter of cheese and meats on one night and this was more than enough for a dinner for two. The location allows for visits to numerous wineries especially the smaller ones and still be able return to your accommodation with plenty of time for more R & R. Will definitely return.
